Despite the very small number of YES alumni in Libya and the conflict taking place all around them, from time to time they still have a reason to come together and celebrate.

This was the case on August 2nd, at the Nespresso Café in Tripoli. The YES alumni and incoming YES students from Libya held a farewell reception for Yasmeen Khayal (YES 2013-2014, hosted by Ayusa in McKinney, TX) and Siraj Belgasium (YES 2012-2013, hosted by AYA in Pottsville, PA) who were recently selected for the MEPI Tomorrow’s Leaders Scholarship Program

Both will spend the next several years at the Lebanese American University, where Yasmeen plans to study Business Administration and Siraj will focus on Computer Engineering.

What a great cause for celebration! And a great excuse for the remaining YES alumni in Libya to catch up and make plans for more successes to come.
