YES Alumnus Makes English Easy

Anis1

These days, technology is a central part of most people’s lives. Alumnus Anis El Jorni (YES 2016 - 2017, Libya, hosted by CIEE in Des Moines, IA) has decided to use this force for good.

Anis is in the process of designing an app called “Easy English”. The aim of the app is to help students study for school and improve their English spelling capabilities. The app tests players on spellings of words, tracks the players score, and makes lists of which words need to be practiced more. “Easy English” is free for anyone to download and capitalizes on people’s preference for using apps to study over traditional paper based methods.

“Easy English” was inspired by Anis’ wish to transfer the knowledge he gained while studying in the US to a productive tool that has wide reaching benefits. The app is just one of Anis’ many technological ideas. He has also created a website which documents his experience as an exchange student is Iowa. Anis’ website was designed to share with his American friends and show people the huge impact his exchange year has on him. Check it our yourself here!

Although he is sad his exchange year is over, Anis is excited for the opportunities that being a YES alumnus holds. He has many ideas that he plans to apply in the future, so you better keep your eye out for this up and coming techie!
