Since Global Youth Service Day 2013 is in the same year as YES 10th Anniversary, alumni in Bangladesh organized a service campaign called "10 Causes to Goodness" (a tribute to the 10 years of the YES program). This series of 10 alumni organized and implemented projects focused on different issues in their communities throughout the entire month of April. The following is a brief summary of each of these projects.

• Empowering Young Women Leaders of Tomorrow - On April 3rd, alumni organized a day long leadership skill building workshop for 25 female, high school students. Their goal was to create an increased awareness about the importance of youth service and leadership skills amongst young women. Alumni trained students and encouraged other alumni to become empowered youth leaders in their communities. Then, on April 20th, teams from different schools came together to share their service achievements and impact in their communities. Ms. Viraj LeBailly, the Director of the American Center Dhaka, presented each team with an award.

• Spread the Light of Volunteerism - Alumni organized a networking event with 10 different youth organizations in Bangladesh in hopes of building a strong network for future collaborations. This event took place on April 13th at the American Center in Dhaka. Embassy representative, Quazi Sabir Amanullah, was also in attendance.

• Book Drive - A total of 512 books were collected through the YES Alumni Bangladesh Book Drive, which benefitted the Smallfoot Elementary School, a school for underserved children.

• A Day for the Little Ones - Alumni organized a sports day for 50 children, ages 6 to 12, from the Social and Economic Enhancement Programme (SEEP), an organization that works with socially disadvantaged children in Bangladesh. The day included a sports competition, learning new songs, carnival snacks such as cotton candy, and a brief training on proper hygiene. YES alumni also donated about 200 books that they had collected from a previous book drive event.

• Because Cleanliness is Awesomeness - Alumni organized and conducted a hygiene awareness workshop for 25 female, high school students at Agrani High School and College. The workshop began with a presentation about cleanliness of home and surroundings, followed by a school grounds clean up project. Later, the participants were presented information about personal hygiene for maintaining good health. Alumni donated trash bins to the school so that the students could continue to maintain a clean environment.

• A Green Earth - On Earth Day, April 22nd, alumni taught over 300 students in grades 1-6 about the environment. The workshop discussed pollution, environmental protection as well as environmentally conscious art projects and tree planting.

• Care Back for the Old & Physically Challenged - Alumni volunteered at a Senior home visiting with the elderly residents and listening to their fascinating stories.

• Volunteer Video - Alumni created a promotional video, "I volunteer because…", which they launched at the start of Global Youth Service Day. Alumni also brought with them books and fruit as donations and gifts to the residents.
