MANILA, Philippines – Recently, Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Program alumna Carla Dela Cruz graduated with honors from Trinity University of Asia in Manila. Dela Cruz participated in the YES program in Maryland during the academic year 2004-2005.  After returning to the Philippines in 2005, she competed and won a full scholarship from the Peace Corps Alumni Foundation for Philippine Development (PCAFPD) to support her college education.  Dela Cruz uses a wheelchair and she is from the remote island province of Catanduanes. She majored in special education, and she is looking forward to her career of teaching younger children with special needs.
