Lehigh University and the Iacocca Institute Office of International Affairs are again offering the Global Village for Leaders in Business and Industry June 23 – July 27, 2013. American Councils for International Education, in cooperation with the Iacocca Institute will be offering a limited number of partial and full scholarships for YES alumni, funded by the U.S. Department of State.

The Global Village is an applied leadership residential, cross-cultural training program. It is designed for young professionals and experienced students from around the world; people who strive to become leaders in business and industry and form an active and global network.

How Global Village interns learn to become successful leaders:

• Networking
• Business trips
• Consulting projects

Ashraf El-Eryani, from Yemen, a Global Village 2009 Joint YES/Iacocca Scholarship Recipient, says “YES opened my eyes and made me understand the differences and colors of the world; [Global Village] completed my experience by allowing me to live and appreciate those differences and colors. I went back rich in knowledge, skills and, most importantly, LOVE!"

Another 2009 joint scholarship recipient, Mahinour Arafat Mohamed, from Egypt, said “[Global Village] for me is not just learning about different businesses and being a professional entrepreneur, but also being able to give back to the community in all sorts of ways. A memory that I’ll never forget from my GV experience is the Miracle League! How with a combination of little effort, well organization and lots of love, you could draw a smile on a child’s face after achieving his dream! I’ll always carry the GV spirit and the Miracle League’s hope whenever I face an obstacle!"
