In September 2011, forty YES alumni participated in an alumni development workshop called Career Essentials. The workshop is a step-by-step guide for workforce preparation. Career essentials helped the students learn the skills to identify careers in demand, apply and interview for a job, and succeed in that job. Topics include skill testing, creating a resume, and finding a job that best suits a person’s skills, background, and personality.

In the evaluation, Rayan Assaf (YES’06) stated the following, “this workshop was very useful and I'm already starting to apply the things I learned in my current job. It's a great future reference in case of career changes or opening a business. Thank you very much for this opportunity.” Nour Kassir (YES’05) when asked about the strengths of this workshop she said, “included both the theoretical and practical lessons presented in a very interesting and diversified way; covered the most essential elements we needed to know.”
