How to Ace Your Interview

On March 26, 17 YES alumni from seven countries, including Jordan, Gaza, West Bank, Kuwait, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, and Morocco, attended an online training on interviewing. The alumni were excited to improve their employability and develop skills that will help them achieve professional success. The event was led by Elizabeth Ghanim, the People Experience Lead at Unilever in Dubai. Elizabeth has over 19 years of human resources experience, which she shared with the alumni during the session.

Elizabeth discussed the talent acquisition process and the different types of interviews that alumni might encounter. She shared tips and tricks to help alumni ace a job interview, such as potential interview questions, interview dos and don’ts, and what recruiters look for in a candidate. She also taught alumni how they should prepare for an interview, namely researching the company and preparing questions to ask the interviewer. The session ended with a roleplay activity, where alumni practiced mock interviews in breakout rooms and gave feedback to each other on their performance.

The YES alumni enjoyed the session and found it helpful for their professional development.

Lina El Hussini ‘18 said, “The speaker was very helpful and knew what she was talking about. I feel more knowledgeable about interviewing after the session, and I’m hoping to put to use everything she taught me."
