Ihsan Campaign in Gaza

Small Ihsan Activity Photo

Photo: YES alumna Tala Shurrab (YES 2014-2015, hosted by PAX in Richland, MO) helped prepare bags of food to be distributed to families in need.

YES alumni in Gaza always look for ways to improve their communities, and these activities only increased during the holy month of Ramadan as YES alumni took on roles in the Ihsan Voluntary Campaign run by Gazan youth.

The Ihsan ("Kindness" or "Good will") Campaign involved three main activities, including distributing iftar meals during Ramadan, distributing food aid, and hosting a clothing exhibition. Seven YES alumni took part in the Ihsan community service activities.

The first two activities were held in the second half of the holy month of Ramadan, and the clothing exhibition was held for the three days before Eid al-Fitr, the end of Ramadan.

YES alumni served in multiple roles, including preparing meals, packaging food, and distributing food to families. During the clothing exhibition, the YES alumni were responsible for welcoming the incoming families and helping them select clothes that fit them.

The YES alumni so enjoyed their time with the Ihsan Voluntary Campaign; they hope to continue participating in similar events in the future!
