Learning to be More Green

Alumni learned to be more “green” during their participation in an environmental education camp retreat from March 26th – March 28th. The retreat was held at Camp Kungoso International, an environmental center for education, conservation and recreation.

During the retreat, alumni learned about the importance of environmental protection, specifically with regards to our trees and animals. The alumni also learned about the importance of natural herbs, as well as survival tactics in the wilderness. Camp activities included learning how to pitch a tent, tree pruning and climbing exercises.  At the end of the camp, a plot of land was donated by Kungoso International, where the alumni will plant trees and other plants in honor of the YES exchange program.

The alumni were very happy to obtain more knowledge on how to protect their environment, and look forward to sharing their newly learned skills with other members of their communities.
