Snow Day Interview

Ranim Hamrouni 22 Snow Interview

As the winter season progresses, these chilly months of the year will be the first times for many of our YES students to ever experience snow. However, not all our students get the opportunity to be interviewed by local reporters while witnessing their first snowfall! On February 3, YES student Ranim Hamrouni from Tunisia was exploring her snow-covered town of Franklin, Indiana, when local reporter Karen Campbell from WTHR bumped into Ranim and her host family. When asked about her impressions about the snow, Ranim replied, “I love it!”

Snow days can be moments for rest, fun, and quality time with loved ones. During the interview, Ranim's host sister remarked, "It's awesome to see how excited Ranim is for everything we're doing." Ranim's host father added with a chuckle, "And we don't have to go to work or school, so that makes it even better!" The happy bunch shared that after going sledding at a nearby park, they planned to go home to warm up by the fireplace and eat some "snow ice cream." It sounds like it was a successful snow day for Ranim and her host family!
