47 Malaysian students participating in the Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Program sponsored by the U.S. Embassy departed Malaysia on January 12 to attend high schools in the U.S. The students will live with an American family and study with American students in U.S. high schools. This group of Malaysian student leaders attended a pre-departure orientation at the Malaysian-American Commission on Educational Exchange (MACEE) after which they enjoyed a pizza luncheon.

Since 2004, the Embassy has sponsored over 80 students in the YES program which is administered by Antarabudaya Malaysia, the local partner of the American Field Service (AFS).
