We are excited to announce registration is open for the Projects for All Workshop. Did August’s Crip Camp Workshop inspire you with great project ideas? Now it’s time to put those ideas into action! Join us for a workshop series from November 10-13 focused on developing inclusive projects inspired by the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Crip Camp Workshop. 

This workshop is open to YES, YES Abroad, FLEX, and CBYX alumni, and no application is necessary. We especially encourage any alumni interested in disability rights, accessibility, and inclusivity to attend! While there is no application, advanced registration is required. Workshop Sessions

Intro to Designing Accessible Projects: November 10, 9:30-11:00 am EST

This session will discuss the importance of the twin track approach: 1) using an inclusive approach by making all projects accessible and 2) designing effective projects by and with people with disabilities, for people with disabilities. This session will include a panel of alumni with and without disabilities who have organized accessible projects and projects that advance the rights of people with disabilities.

Inclusive Project Design and Management (PDM) Basics: November 11, 9:30-10:30 am EST

Using a series of videos and assignments, participants will learn about the key components of inclusive project design and management. Participants will leave the training with a clear understanding of what steps they need to take when developing a community project and how to incorporate inclusivity into each step.

Telling Your Story: November 12, 9:30-10:30 am EST

Through a guided training on digital storytelling, participants will learn how to effectively structure a story that promotes the rights of people with disabilities using popular short-form video tools, like Instagram and Facebook Stories. Participants will be provided with templates to create stories that effectively highlight their projects and will be asked to create and submit examples that promote disability rights and inclusivity.

Follow-on Grants Session: November 13, 9:30-10:30 am EST

YES and FLEX alumni may apply for funding to hold follow-on projects in their communities using the information, skills, and knowledge learned at the Crip Camp and Projects for All Workshops. In this session, participants will learn about the process, timeline, and guidelines for the grant opportunity.
