Students on the YES, FLEX and CBYX program hosted with AFS in Washtenaw County, Michigan volunteered their time at a local tutoring center to celebrate International Education Week with elementary school students. Tahreem from Pakistan (YES), Anita from Russia (FLEX), and Lisa from Germany (CBYX) met with approximately 20 students in small groups throughout the evening. Students learned about Pakistan, Russia, and Germany by asking questions to the exchange students. The most popular topics included sports, food, and language. Students also enjoyed the chance to learn about the different country flags and currencies.
