When YES students finish their exchange year in the United States and return home, the most exciting thing for them to look forward to is joining the YES alumni family. As the list of alumni continues to grow, it becomes harder to stay connected and build strong bond with alumni from different cohort years. For that reason, the YES Alumni Network in Lebanon created an e-newsletter.

Originally, the YES e-newsletter started as a virtual platform in 2018 for all alumni, those in Lebanon and those who are studying or working abroad. Though it was a great initiative at the time, the alumni found it hard to maintain the page. So, as a way to start off the year, a group of YES alumni volunteered to revive the page, and officially published the second edition of the YES e-newsletter!

The focus of this e-newsletter is to share the achievements of fellow YES alumni, and to help them get to know one another, connect, and draw inspiration from each other. This e-newsletter helps bridge the gap between alumni, and gives them the chance to stay updated in the YES Alumni Network. So, what does this e-newsletter include?

Here is the fun part! This e-newsletter includes different sections where alumni can find professional and academic tips, stories about YES students currently in the United States, alumni spotlights, profiles of older YES alumni from the early cohort years, and announcements for upcoming events and projects.

One of the volunteer editors, Nazih Raychouni, states, “I think the most important part of this e-newsletter is the alumni we highlight and the achievements within this network. This way we can inspire and be inspired, especially since we have all been through the same YES journey.”
