You know that feeling you get when you finally see someone after years apart? YES students and alumni are very familiar with that feeling after their exchange year, and on April 21, the YES alumni community in Jordan got to experience it all over again!

After two years apart due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, Jordanian YES alumni reunited in-person to elect a new Board of Directors. 52 alumni in total participated. To prepare, alumni nominated themselves for positions a few weeks in advance. At the live event, the nominees for President, North Regional Coordinator, East Jordan Regional Coordinator, South Jordan Regional Coordinator, and Office Manager presented themselves and answered questions. Then the entire group took part in a brain storming session to discuss edits to their Alumni Association constitution. YES Jordan is always looking to improve!

This in-person reunion and election event was an engaging way for the YES alumni in Jordan to reconnect and get to know the two newest cohorts of alumni. These new alumni hadn't been able to participate in many activities yet due to the pandemic, so the big event with the older alumni encouraged them to get involved.

In the end, 13 alumni nominated themselves for positions, 79 alumni voted in-person or online, the votes were counted, and winners were announced on the spot. Congratulations to these new YES alumni leaders in Jordan:
