YES Alumni Grants Programs 2025

Website YES Grants and PD Grants Winter Cycle

Proposals for two grant opportunities are now being accepted through February 13 from eligible alumni of the YES and YES Abroad programs. These grants are funded by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) and administered by American Councils for International Education.


2025 YES Alumni Grants

Grants of up to $3,000 are available to enable alumni to contribute to their communities through projects in areas such as sharing the English language and American culture, civic engagement, community service, conflict resolution and interfaith dialogue, entrepreneurship, youth empowerment, and more!

Grant projects may begin after August 1, 2025 and must be completed by February 28, 2026.


Professional Development Grants: Winter Cycle

The Professional Development Grants program offers grants of up to $250 to support YES and YES Abroad alumni participation in professional development opportunities to gain skills and talents they can bring to their home communities and alumni networks and that will further their knowledge in their current career or field of study. Proposals must include a plan for sharing what was learned from the opportunity with fellow alumni or the local community.

Examples of expenses this grant could support:

  • Conference/training fees
  • Online courses
  • Travel to/from a professional development opportunity
  • Overnight accommodation while attending a professional development opportunity
  • Language courses (if directly related to applicant’s career and/or the applicant demonstrates the knowledge gained would lead to strong community impact)

Fundable opportunities may begin after March 1, 2025 and must be completed by June 30, 2025. The application for the Spring cycle of the Professional Development and Travel Grants program will be open in May 2025.


Proposals both grants programs are due by February 13 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
