YES Alumni Create Covid-19 Prevention Video

Covid 19 Video Screenshot

As the spread of Covid-19 continues to cause stress and anxiety in our communities, five YES alumni in Gaza posted a video on social media about the steps needed to prevent further contraction of the disease. YES alumnus Abdallah from Gaza thought of the idea after thinking about his experience as a medical student. Abdallah shares, "As a medical student, I think that the local community needs more awareness about Coronavirus and ways to prevent it from spreading. So, the YES alumni decided that making this video will be a great initiative to protect everyone."

Creating the video involved the alumni and other featured guests such as Abdallah’s YES host family. Other former exchange students from Germany and Thailand also participated in the video to show this global cooperation. Each participant in the video demonstrated a health tip like washing their hands or standing six feet away from someone else. The video was based the World Health Organization’s recommendations to prevent further spread of Covid-19. The alumni posted the video on Facebook, and it reached more than 1600 views in one day!
