CIEE (Council on International Educational Exchange) students treated students at Cooper Elementary School to a rewarding intercultural learning experience. Foreign exchange students, Ale Amin, Marjiya Hassan and Padmanaby Phadke, are here on U.S. Department of State scholarships. Community service is required throughout their program.

Annita Rao, Cooper Literacy Coach, invited the students to Cooper Elementary as part of Cooper ’s Global Studies Program. Each foreign student provided a Power Point presentation. Their presentations focused on highlights about their countries. Cooper students came to the program with “passports” that they had made. These passports where checked by a simulated immigration office and then stamped. Cooper students enjoyed meeting with the visiting students after the program.
