On November 19th, YES students Minahil Ijaz from Pakistan and Emine Cakmak from Turkey, hosted by AFS and supported by local AFS coordinator Linnea Keatts, attended a very special meeting of the Walla Walla, Washington City Council. The City Council officially declared November 17-21 to be International Education Week in the city of Walla Walla!

Mayor Jerry Cummins presented the students and coordinator with an official Proclamation. The students also gave presentations directly to the city council members and were extremely honored to be part of this opportunity.
