Abdulaziz reflects on the highlights from serving as a mentor for CEW.
Each year, Kennedy-Lugar YES Program students hosted in the Washington, D.C. area participate in an interfaith activity with students from local synagogue Congregation Beth El's 8th grade Comparative Religions class. The YES Program students and Beth El students visit a mosque, synagogue and Hindu temple during the year. In December, students from the synagogue accompanied the YES cluster to a mosque where they observed wudu and the Islamic prayers with translations and explanations by the YES students. The 2 groups then went to the synagogue to celebrate Chanukkah where they lighted menorahs and ate traditional potato pancakes.
The group was interviewed by Voice of America Urdu. http://www.urduvoa.com/media/video/1572340.html
