Cycling Across Europe for a Good Cause

Macedonia Prague Milan Dimitrovski Yes 15 On The Charles Bridge In Prague After He Finished His 800 Miles Cycling Trip Through 6 Countries In Europe To Fundraise Money For The Migraine Trust

By Bojan Aleksovski, YES 2013-2014, Macedonia, hosted by AFS in Chelmsford, Massachusetts

Starting on August 22, Macedonian alumnus Milan Dimitrovski (YES ’15, hosted by AFS in Mechanicsburg, PA) together with three other members of the University of Kent Cycling Club began an 800 mile (1300 km) fundraising trip through six countries in Europe with the sole purpose of fundraising money for the Migraine Trust, a patient-focused, research-driven charity in the United Kingdom that funds global research on migraine treatment, as the medication currently available does not tackle the issue of recurring migraines.

Starting from Canterbury, United Kingdom, and cycling through France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, all the way to his final destination: Prague, Czech Republic, Milan completed what he refers to as the biggest challenge in his life in under ten days and raised $217 in the process. During the trip, Milan faced many challenges; some technical such as tire blowouts; other emotional, but he successfully overcame every obstacle in his way and, in the process, grew greatly as a person.

This is Milan’s unique way of helping society.  What is yours?
