After having a great year of cultural exchange in my host state of Oklahoma, I wanted to share such celebrations in my home country. I think Thanksgiving is a great cultural celebration because it emphasizes tolerance, so on Thanksgiving Day, 2015, I organized a celebration at a junior high school in my community. This was such a great opportunity for my community of Kaolack, Senegal to learn about other cultures. I gave a presentation about Thanksgiving and then we all ate a Thanksgiving dinner together.
At least 70 people attended the event and the students teachers really appreciated being invited to the Exchange of Thanksgiving. It was such a wonderful cultural celebration!
