International Education Week Trivia

International Education Week (IEW) is a great opportunity to learn about new cultures. On November 13, five YES alumni, three ALEX alumni, five current YES Abroad students, and six friends of the alumni came together for a cultural trivia night in Jordan. They discussed the Jordanian, Palestinian, Circassian, and American cultures. Attendees were divided into groups for a trivia game filled with laughter, competitiveness, and fun. The participants answered questions such as, “What is the national flower of the United States,” “How many castles are there in Jordan,” and “What is the name of the traditional Circassian Dance?”

After trivia, the students shared presentations about their countries, including their traditions, festivals, and unique characteristics. They shared their firsthand experiences, performed cultural demonstrations, and answered questions about their culture.

Louts Al Habahbeh, YES ‘23, shared, “I loved how everyone was so proud of their culture and wanted to share it with others. I also enjoyed learning about places I’ve never been to before in Jordan and the U.S.”
