Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, YES alumni in Albania have been trying new ways to virtually engage and impact their community. One idea they have come up with is having a series of live talks on YES Albania Alumni social media platforms. For these talks, alumni were invited to livestream their discussions on social issues or what they’re passionate about. 

This September, alumna Alkesis Satka (YES 2018-2019, Albania, placed with PAX in Lehi, UT) organized an Instagram live talk entitled “Bullying Take Back Your Power”. Since September is back to school month, she found it important to address bullying, an issue that is very present amongst high school students all over Albania. 

The talk was put on with the help of Jesmina Sengla, a Political Science student and member of the U.S. Embassy Youth Council - Albania. Together, they discussed bullying as a matter of power, and gave their advice to help students stand up for themselves and others!
