Spreading Compassion and Unity

Six Alumni With Piles Of Folded Clothes On Table In Front Of Them

Five YES alumni hailing from across Tunisia set out to collect donations for the less fortunate. They decided to pool their efforts and resources, since they knew that that would allow them to accomplish much more than they could on their own. They spread the word about their donation drive in various public spaces, their respective universities, and within their local communities.

The response they received exceeded their wildest expectations. Over 300 donations poured in, ranging from clothing items to essential supplies. With such a high quantity of donations, they realized that they needed a reliable partner to ensure the donations reached the intended recipients. They decided to collaborate with IHEC Carthage’s 3 Zero Campus Club—a group dedicated to eradicating three major social issues: zero carbon emissions, zero exclusion, and zero poverty. The club's commitment to making a difference aligned perfectly with the alumni's mission.

Boxes And Bags Of Clothes Piled On The Ground

Together, the alumni and the 3 Zero Campus Club worked tirelessly throughout the month of Ramadan. Each day, the team would gather at the club's headquarters, sorting and organizing the donations. They were heartened to witness the transformation of the space into a hub of compassion and unity. Donated clothes were meticulously sorted and labeled, ensuring they would reach the right individuals.

As news of their initiative spread, the wider community took notice. Local businesses and organizations offered their support, providing logistics and transportation to help distribute the donations to families in need. The alumni and club members felt a sense of immense gratitude for the collaborative spirit that enveloped their project.

The climax of their efforts arrived as the month of May ended. The alumni and club members, alongside volunteers from the community, joined hands to deliver the donations to families in poverty. They visited homes, community centers, and shelters, sharing moments of warmth, compassion, and hope.

As they witnessed the impact of their collective endeavor, they felt an indescribable joy. The smiles on the faces of those they helped illuminated the true meaning of their actions. They had not only provided clothing and supplies but also reminded people that they were not alone—that a community existed, bound together by compassion and empathy.

The story of these five alumni stands as a testament to the transformative power of collaboration and the capacity of individuals to make a difference in their communities. Through their dedication, the spirit of giving was ignited, leaving an enduring legacy for all who witnessed their remarkable journey.
