Alumnus, Bjorn Filemon, YES ’12 successfully completed the Voyage (Volunteers of Youth Age) iEARN project this month. He began by organizing a carwash in order to raise funds; then, he used those funds to organize a day trip to the zoo for HIV positive children who are living in a shelter. He did this to show people that these children are just as normal and special as all other children, and that there should not be any stigmas or discrimination against them. The children enjoyed themselves at the playground and throughout the tour of the zoo; then, as another special treat, they received schoolbags and returned to their shelter in a party bus.

For privacy reasons, the head of the shelter said no pictures could be taken of the children, but the alumni did manage to take some other  pictures of the event, which are posted on the YES Alumni Facebook page.
