On November 1, YES alumni in Bahrain hosted a Thanksgiving dinner at The Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel, Residence and Spa in Manama. 27 people attended the event, including YES alumni, representatives from the U.S. Embassy Manama, and Amideast staff.

The attendees enjoyed a traditional Thanksgiving menu, including roasted turkey with stuffing and winter vegetables, mince pies, traditional Christmas pudding and sautéed brussels sprouts. This brought back many fond memories for the alumni of the Thanksgiving meals they enjoyed with their host families!

Samar Hasan, Education Specialist, Linda McMullen, Public Affairs Officer, and Nicholas Von Mertens, Deputy Public Affairs Officer, attended from the U.S. Embassy. The alumni enjoyed the opportunity to connect with Embassy officials and share their YES experiences and alumni projects with them.

During the dinner, the alumni reflected on their memories of the holiday season in the U.S., and the traditions they continue to practice to commemorate their exchange experience.
