We are pleased to announce the 2023 YES Alumni Professional Development and Travel Grant opportunity. The grants are funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) and administered by American Councils for International Education. The grants are available to YES and YES Abroad alumni.

The YES Alumni Professional Development and Travel Grants program will offer grants of up to $250 to support alumni participation in professional development opportunities to develop skills and talents they can bring back to their home communities and alumni networks and/or that will further their knowledge in their current career or field of study. Proposals that include an aspect of sharing what was learned from the opportunity with fellow alumni or the local community will receive preferential consideration. Preference will also be given to active alumni.

Examples of expenses this grant could support:

• Conference/training fees
• Online courses
• Travel to/from a professional development opportunity
• Accommodations while attending a professional development opportunity
• Language courses (if directly related to applicant’s career and/or the applicant demonstrates the knowledge gained would lead to community impact)

The application will be open from April 4 to 25, 2023. Fundable opportunities may begin after the date of application submission and must be completed by December 31, 2023.
