YES Alumni Visit the Elderly in Nablus

Group Photo At Red Crescent

On January 26, 15 YES alumni visited the Red Crescent House for the Elderly in Nablus, a nursing home that provides care and shelter for senior citizens. The alumni wanted to take the elders out of their daily routine with a fun day of prepared activities, and give them the chance to see new faces.

The day started with the alumni and elders introducing themselves and saying something they are proud of, this helped everyone get to know each other. After that, they played a game of traditional riddles together which helped energize everyone. After refreshing their minds, it was time to move on to singing and dancing! The alumni and the elders shared some dances, laughed and those who sat on the sidelines were able to watch, sing, and clap.

At the end of the day, the elders shared stories and memories with the alumni. Afterwards, it was time for everyone to say goodbye. The alumni parted with a present and handed out socks for the elders and staff, so that everyone at the Red Crescent House could remember the YES alumni visit.
